Electricity production at Olkiluoto 3 was interrupted today, Monday, June 3, due to a turbine malfunction. The plant unit is expected to return to production during the night between Monday and Tuesday.

A disturbance detected at the turbine facility automatically halted the plant's electricity production today at 11:41 AM. In the investigations immediately initiated after the situation, the cause was found to be a failure in the differential pressure measurement of the generator's sealing oil and hydrogen coolant.

The plant operated as designed based on safety protocols during the incident. The measurement data has now been restored to operation.

According to the current assessment, the plant unit will return to production during the night.

The incident had no impact on nuclear safety.
