The electricity production at OL3 starts in March

At the test production phase of a nuclear power plant, the plant unit and its safety systems are tested to verify that the plant operations comply with design. During the OL3 plant unit’s test production phase, it was observed that there is a need for modifications in the plant unit’s automation, especially turbine island related control functions, as well as further testing related to the modifications. The modifications and the tests are taking longer than previously communicated and the schedule has now been updated accordingly.

The production forecast for the test production phase can be followed in more detail on TVO’s website at: www.tvo.fi/ol3forecast. An urgent market message will be released in Nordpool on any significant changes. TVO will also release a stock exchange release in the case that the schedule of the test production phase changes by over three weeks from the previously communicated schedule.

The OL3 EPR plant supplier consortium is constructing the plant unit under a fixed-price turnkey contract. The supplier consortium companies, AREVA GmbH, AREVA NP SAS, and Siemens AG, have joint and several liability for the contractual obligations until the end of the guarantee period of the plant unit.
